Cactus Communications (CACTUS), a leading science communication and technology company, has joined hands with J-STAGE, a leading online platform hosting academic journals primarily from Japan. The partnership aims to provide the research community with access to high-quality research available with J-STAGE through R Discovery, a CACTUS product, which is the highest rated literature search and research reading platform globally.
Managed by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), J-STAGE hosts over 4,000 journals, conference proceedings, and other academic publications from more than 2,400 publishers in Japan. Covering various disciplines such as science, technology, medicine, engineering, humanities, and social sciences, J-STAGE is a prominent platform for scholarly research in Japan.
Through this partnership, DOI links to research papers on J-STAGE will be made available on R Discovery, contributing to its extensive repository of over 250 million research articles, which include over 150 million peer reviewed articles and 40 million open access articles. Now R Discovery’s over 3 million users, including students from top universities and academic institutions across 190+ countries, will now be able to access J-STAGE’s published research papers on the web and through its app.
Mr. Makoto Yuasa, Chief Growth Officer, Research Solutions, Cactus Communications, said, “We are excited to establish a partnership between R Discovery and J-STAGE and further our goal of accelerating the dissemination of knowledge among researchers across the globe. This partnership reaffirms our stance on supporting researchers in their scholarly pursuits, amplifying accessibility, and the globalization of research.”
R Discovery employs cutting-edge AI to help democratize research discovery and enhance accessibility with innovative features, including audio capabilities that allow users to listen to research on the go. The platform’s translation feature facilitates an easier reading or listening experience in a researcher’s native language.
Ritsuko Nakajima, Director of the Department for Information Infrastructure at Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), commented, “We are happy to join hands with CACTUS and jointly strengthen the dissemination of research results from the Japanese academic community through R Discovery and J-STAGE. In line with our shared vision of making research universally accessible, we aim to foster a culture of academic excellence.”
The partnership between the two entities aims to drive academic excellence by enhancing the accessibility of research to academics around the world. With seamless access to J-STAGE content via R Discovery, CACTUS endeavors to fuel innovation and empower researchers in making ground-breaking discoveries.
