In the last 15 years, I've played roles across different functions and I've also had the opportunity to lead teams across all of our geographies. During the pandemic, we saw a delay in journal responses to researchers waiting to get their papers published and this caused a lot of stress. To alleviate their stress during this period, we decided to extend the period of multiple rounds of editing. We also launched pro bono editing to support researchers working on COVID research. I'm grateful that CACTUS extended its support to researchers during this difficult time and I think this was possible because CACTUS values researchers over everything else.

CACTUS has always been a very diverse and dynamic organization, but I think in the last few years, the kind of growth we've seen has been exciting. In the last two years alone, we have added many new geographies to our boundaryless hiring initiative. Just in the last year, we have grown by 18%. Over 57% of our workforce is now women. We have 67% of women being promoted. Approximately 48% of the leadership is women. It just goes to show that CACTUS is not just a diverse organization on paper, but it is diverse in every breath, every decision that we make.
