Cactus Communications (CACTUS) is a global science communication organization that collaborates with STEM, life sciences, social sciences, and humanities researchers, universities, publishers, and organizations to accelerate research impact. CACTUS has expanded its footprint in India by setting up a new Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. With its headquarters in Mumbai, CACTUS has offices in the US, the UK, Japan, China, South Korea, and Singapore.

“These are exciting times for us. India is key to our organizational goals, and we aim to hire the brightest minds in the research community to partner with us in our growth story. We truly believe that India, with its world-class talent and strong research programs, will bring the next big wave in research,” says Vikas Narang, COO, Editage – a leading science communication brand by CACTUS.

CACTUS has a workforce of nearly 1,000 employees and approximately 3,000 freelancers. Together, they have served more than 371,000 researchers and doctors across 191 countries and transformed over 1 million papers across 1,200 disciplines. CACTUS has been recognised as the Best Organisation for Women Empowerment/Women Talent Development in 2019. In a survey conducted in 2017 by the Great Place to Work (GPTW) Institute, CACTUS ranked number 1 among India’s Mid-size Workplaces. CACTUS also featured in the top 20 of Asia’s Best Small and Medium Workplaces in a survey conducted by GPTW in 2018.

The Indian government is actively strengthening the research ecosystem in the country. Recently, the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, stated that research will play a key role in making India a $5 trillion economy by 2025. “Research impacts human life in every way. Currently, India ranks 5th in the world for research publication, and we certainly have the potential to move further up the ladder,” added Vikas.

CACTUS is committed to improve the science communication landscape in India, and in this endeavour, the organisation has developed various products and solutions that serve the needs of the scientific community. The organisation is recruiting new talent in Bengaluru which is a known hub for technology and science, and will continue to extend its presence across India.
